Description: This course is designed to provide overall incident management skills rather than tactical expertise. The course will cover the implementation of the incident management process on Type 3 incidents; define a Type 3 incident, and the development of an Incident Action Plan. Determining capabilities to match Incident complexity will be discussed. When and how to add appropriate ICS positions to match the complexity of the incident will be explored. The use of Incident Management Teams will be discussed.

This course is designed to provide overall incident management skills rather than tactical expertise. This course will discuss how major incidents pose special management challenges. It will explore the circumstances in which an Area Command is established and describes the circumstances in which multi-agency coordination systems are established. This course is designed for senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or multi-agency coordination system.
Lancaster County Emergency Management Director, Brian Pasquale, will lead a discussion on CCRC emergency planning and what roles PEMA and FEMA can provide. Additionally, Director Pasquale will discuss training, education, and exercises for your facility.
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement an evacuation and re-entry plan for their jurisdictions. It uses a community’s vulnerability analysis and evacuation plan. It also addresses evacuation behavior and recommends methods to make evacuation and re-entry more efficient. This course does not address the decision to evacuate or re-enter.
The goal of this professional development course, ICS 300 Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents, is to provide training on and resources for overall incident management skills for personnel who require the intermediate application of the Incident Command System (ICS). You must attend all sessions to receive credit for the course.

FEMA announces two webinars to introduce the new National Incident Management System (NIMS) Information and Communications Technology Functional Guidance (ICT Functional Guidance). Published in March 2023, the ICT Functional Guidance provides a framework that incorporates ICT services into the Incident Command System (ICS) to meet the increasing demands and expectations for ICT capabilities. The webinars will provide all participants with an overview of the new guidance to support its rollout. This includes an overview of new guidance for the ICT function and the ICT Branch.
