Welcome to the Technical Hazards (Tech Hazards) page. This Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency office covers a variety of specialized services related to “Next-Generation” hazard preparedness and planning including but not limited to:

  • Cyber
  • Environmental Emergency Response
  • Energy and Grid
  • Radiological Emergencies
  • Transportation Incidents
  • Dam Failures
  • Unmanned Aircraft
  • Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP)

Technological hazards include hazardous materials incidents and nuclear power plant failures. Usually, little or no warning precedes incidents involving technological hazards. The number of technological incidents is escalating world-wide, mainly as a result of the increased number of new technology and substances as well the opportunities for human error inherent in the use of these materials. This program is dedicated to keeping up with the "Next Generation" of all-hazards preparedness.
