About the Authority: The Lancaster Airport Authority is a municipal authority created to oversee the maintenance and operation of the Lancaster Airport located approximately 6 miles north of Lancaster City along the Lititz Pike. The property consists of approximately 900 acres in Manheim and Warwick Townships. Containing a mix of runway, taxiway, and apron pavement, Lancaster Airport is home to 24 businesses that support aviation from aircraft fueling and maintenance facilities to aircraft storage.
The Airport Authority is overseen by 5 community leaders. 2 are appointed by the Lancaster County Commissioners, 2 are appointed by the Lancaster City Council, and one is a bi-appointee by both the Commissioners and City Council. The Authority has an Airport Director who heads up the facility and keeps the Board abreast of Airport Authority activities.
