About the Council: Appointed by the Lancaster County Commissioners, the Advisory Council is established under the Pennsylvania Public Welfare Code to review and make recommendations pertaining to the county children and youth social service program and the operation of the county agency. The primary function and responsibility of a county children and youth agency advisory committee is to advise and help the executive officers of the county and the administrator of the agency.
The council consists of 9 members appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Members of the council should have an interest in children and youth services, a concern for social conditions in the community, and sufficient time to fulfill their obligations as members.
